CYCLE LOGISTICS EUROPE RELEASES A MANUAL FOR PLANNING CARGO BIKE HUBS

Technological advancements in automotive and transportation sector has paved the way for vehicles running on alternate sources of energy. Governments are encouraging manufacturers to produce and sell efficient substitutes of fuel based vehicles such as electric cargo bikes.

Electric cargo bikes provide an innovative and disruptive technology in the Urban logistics and transportation business. They are emission-free, environmentally friendly and low-noise vehicles.

To meet climate commitments, countries are taking measures to regulate use of fuel based vehicles, and offering attractive subsidies and incentives for hybrids and electric cargo bikes to boost the market.

‘The global electric cargo bikes market is estimated to reach US$ 1,095.2 Mn by the end of 2026’ quoted in a study done by Persistence Market Research.

To manage the surge in use of cargo bikes in various segments, the future demands adequate planning and creating systems, facilities to meet infrastructure challenges such as safe cycle lanes, secure parking zones, repair shops etc.

“Planning Cargo Bike Hub” is a conceptual guide meant for municipalities and related experts involved in the planning of transportation hubs for urban logistics.
