In a bid to incentivize and nudge cycling culture in cities in India, Ahmedabad based startup Cycling Cities launched Crooze app for cyclists. The app rewards cyclists for every ride they clock on the app. The cyclists earn Crooze coins for staying fit – at the same time reduce carbon emissions.

I had never imagined that I would be able to cycle in the middle of the road, thanks to Car Free Day organized by Mumbai Police. Car Free Day also called #SundayStreets, this campaign started with 6 streets going car free on the 1st Sunday and 9 streets on the 2nd Sunday from morning 6am to 10am. The number of locations will increase and more streets will be added, suggests the twitter handle of Mumbai Police.

Women cyclists from Mumbai went for a pink ribbon balloon bicycle ride to celebrate International Women’s Day on 6th March 2022. Although the global event is celebrated worldwide on 8th March, the ride was organized on 6th since it was a Sunday and roads are clear of traffic which makes cycling safer.

In 2020, I joined a vintage bicycle club on facebook. In 2021, I acquired a 50-year-old pre-owned classic BSA roadster and got it reconditioned. And in 2022, I saw a documentary film on classic bicycles titled – THE SOUL OF A CYCLIST. What’s next in 2023? I don’t have the answer, nor I can predict; but now, I can certainly share my views about the documentary film I watched.
