As I sit down to reflect on my cycling journey, I am filled with a sense of pride, accomplishment, and gratitude. It’s hard to believe that it’s been a remarkable journey of over 17,000 kms, with numerous milestones and achievements along the way.

The Beginning: Finding Solace in Cycling Post-Covid
My cycling journey began in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Like many others, I was struggling to cope with the lockdown and the uncertainty that came with it. It was during this time that I discovered the joy of cycling. I started with short rides around my neighbourhood, gradually increasing the distance and frequency as I grew more confident and comfortable on the bike.
The Progress: Milestones and Achievements
As I continued to ride, I began to set goals for myself. I started with small targets, gradually increasing the distance and difficulty level. Some of my notable achievements include:

- Completing my first century ride (100 km) within six months of starting cycling
- Riding my first double century ride (200 km) within a year of starting cycling
- Riding my first triple century ride (300 km) within two years of starting cycling
- Completing 15 century rides and more than 100 half-century rides to date
- Participating in numerous cycling events, including the Jio Cyclothon, Wockhardt
Heart Awareness Ride, and Sasmira College Platinum Ride - Completing a 3-day cycling tour of Hampi, covering a distance of over 300 km
The Longest Ride: A Test of Endurance
One of my most memorable rides was my longest ride to date – a 300 km ride that tested my physical and mental endurance. The ride was a challenge, but it was also an incredible opportunity to push myself beyond my limits and discover what I was capable of.

Lessons Learned and Takeaways:
Throughout my cycling journey, I’ve learned many valuable lessons that have helped me grow both as a cyclist and as a person. Some of the key takeaways include:
- The importance of perseverance and determination
- The value of setting goals and working towards them
- The need to listen to my body and take rest when needed
- The joy of exploring new places and experiencing new things
- The sense of community and camaraderie that comes with cycling with others

The Future: Continuing the Journey
As I look to the future, I am excited to continue my cycling journey. I have set new goals for myself, including completing more double century rides, participating in longer cycling tours, and exploring new destinations. I am also looking forward to continuing to ride with my cycling community and making new friends along the way.
In conclusion, my cycling journey has been an incredible adventure that has taught me so much about myself and the world around me. I am grateful for the opportunities that cycling has given me and look forward to continuing to ride and explore for many years to come.
