The ‘Sundays On Cycle Campaign’ under the Fit India Movement program took a meaningful turn on 8th February 2026 with over 120+ cyclists from Mumbai pedalling to the Global Vipassana Pagoda at Gorai, Borivali. This ride was facilitated by Giant Riding Club, GRC 2026 campaign.
When I told my non-cycling friend that we went for Pothole Hunting at the Palm Beach Road, he smiled and said “welcome to the unofficial cycling trend of the season”. The Plam Beach Cruise with the Giant Riding Club (GRC) transported cyclists straight into heaven. The Mumbai chapter of the Giant Riding Club (GRC) Season 5 began on a high gear with 92 riders joining the 1st ride for a wholesome experience on 11th January, Sunday morning. The riders moved at a gentle pace into the heart of Navy Nagar to relive history with a curated group bicycle tour called ‘Colaba Classics’.

With over 13,000+ members registered with the GRC club on ‘Strava’, a global Fitness App, Giant Bicycles is seeing a higher energy in the 2026 season.

He was in the city to participate in a critical mass cycling event as part of the ‘Sundays on Cycle’ initiative under the ‘FIT India Movement’ campaign started by Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi. The PM made a mention in his recent ‘Man Ki Baat’ episode on All India Radio to Fight Obesity which is impacting urban population.
Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya met with leading cycle manufacturers on 11th Feb’25 to discuss strategies for promoting cycling nationwide. The meeting focused on incentivising cycling and further boosting the momentum of the Fit India Sundays on Cycle initiative.
