CYCLING IN VASAI WITH CHALO CHALE TOUR COMPANY

Vasai is a small town located about 50kms away from Mumbai city. Vasai is known for its beaches, fort, temples, and cycling trails.

On 15th August 2023, I celebrated 76th Independence Day of India by going for a bike ride in Vasai. I booked a guided group tour with ‘Chalo Chale’ (Let’s Go), a local Travel and Tours Company based in Vasai. The tour included a rental bicycle, tea and breakfast at a cost of Rs. 799/-.

CYCLING IN NETTETAL, GERMANY

Nettetal is a small town situated at the border of Germany and Netherlands. It has scenic cycle routes that pass through the rivers, farms, and forests. The trails are well marked with signboards and easier to navigate the routes which are a mix of bitumen and gravel. I cycled in Nettetal with my friend Stefan Voormans in June 2023.

PHOTOGRAPHY ON A BIKE RIDE

If you have been for a group bike ride, you get to cafe or a bar, you all park your bikes and eventually someone pulls out the phone and you take a group selfie or a they take a picture of the group and maybe even some of the bikes. You know the picture; they are actually quite fun. Photographically they are not much of an achievement.

You then go on the next ride and the same thing happens and if it’s the same ride it happens in the same place.

Let’s take a different approach, lets show your friends where you have gone for a ride and what an interesting activity it is. Let’s take good photos.

Happy Children’s Day! Today is a special moment for all of us we celebrated Children’s Day with our dear friends and fellow cyclists. We went for a group ride with visually impaired cyclists from the ABBF foundation and Divyang Sports and Cultural foundation. Both are registered government organizations and are working for the welfare and upliftment of the visually impaired children and adults in the society.

I am delighted to share this news with the loyal readers of this blog and the public at large that a new Brompton folding bicycle has come to my house. It’s the standard steel black model, and technically termed as ‘M6L’ – where M stands for the handlebar, 6 is the gear speed and L is for the mudguards.
