She Googled “family bike” and uncovered a global movement of people replacing cars with cargo bikes. Liz set out to learn more and MOTHERLOAD was born.

The sport is a combination of cycling, gymnastics, dance and acrobatics. It is often referred as ‘Freestyle Cycling’ or ‘Cycling Ballet’ due to refined, elegance and creativity displayed by performers. In the competition, professional athletes perform before a panel of judges in five-minute rounds that includes 30 figures. (Stunts are called ‘figures’ in UCI competition). Each figure delivered by an athlete is evaluated on various parameters such as level of difficulty, balance, grace, form, strength, style and flawlessness.

Lt. Col. Bharat Pannu from Rohtak, Haryana became the new record holder for the Fastest Cyclist To Cover Kashmir To Kanyakumari Route (K2K). Riding from Northern tip of India, Bharat Pannu covered a distance of 3600 kms and reached to the Southern tip passing 13 states enroute creating a Guinness World Record. Some say Twitter is a waste of time. However, it is the world’s largest platform to strike conversations globally and is a very effective way for cyclists to network, campaign and communicate.
I have been very keen to embrace Twitter. Like many cyclists I am IT savvy. It has been useful to network with cycling organisations, cycling media; print, internet and television. Twitter was especially a great tool to use to let my friends and followers know where I was as I cycled across USA in 2013 from Los Angeles to Boston covering 3415 miles with my daughter Catherine.
