Delighted to be a part of the inaugural event:

I am feeling fortunate to be a part of the first-ever National Fitness and Wellness Conclave 2025 which was held on November 1st at Trident Hotel, Nariman Point in Mumbai. It was a remarkable event that demonstrates India’s commitment to a healthier future under the Fit India Mission.

The idea of bringing together policymakers, top athletes, and prominent figures from cinema and the wellness industry is futuristic, and the conclave serves as a meaningful forum to discuss, plan, and celebrate the nation’s evolving fitness ecosystem. It was impressive to see the Honourable Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya encouraging speakers to share their frank and honest feedback and suggestions for improving the sporting culture in the country.

The Sports Minister in his opening remarks said that ‘Fitness is crucial for India to become a developed country by 2047′, as envisioned by our Honourable Prime Minister.

The panel discussion representing diverse stakeholders from various sporting fields highlighted the ongoing challenges and urged the Sports Minister to address them.

Key discussion points from the Conclave:

  1. Research and produce nutrition supplements in the domestic market and export it to the world.
  2. Design and manufacture all types of fitness and sports equipment in India.
  3. A policy to regulate self-proclaimed ‘health influencers’ on social media recommending unauthentic supplements.
  4. Creating greater consumer awareness against food apps that push junk food is an immediate neccessity.
  5. Take action against companies for misleading information on packaging.
  6. A policy to minimize screen time and encourage outdoor activities among all age groups.
  7. Sponsorships and infrastructure facilities for athletes to start training from a young age.
  8. Government should design a food and nutrition chart suitable for Indian dietary habits and lifestyle-including protein intake.
  9. Corporate sector should allocate some portion of their CSR spends to support sports.
  10. Adequate sleep and rest is essential alongside exercise for overall fitness and good health.
  11. Atheletes that represent India at global events but fail to bring a medal should get equal support and motivation to perfom better in the future-similar to the support that a medal winner gets.
  12. Filmmakers are encouraged to make films on sports and inspire people.
  13. Parents must give confidence to their kids to take up sports and instill the values of discipline, hard work and consistency.
  14. Athletes should train continuously and not get disappointed with failures-never chase instant success.
  15. Former sports personalities should be involved in the sports governing bodies to design a stronger future growth strategy.
  16. We have to move India to ‘Preventive Health Care, Fitness and Wellness’, stage through education at grass-roots across schools and villages.
  17. Schools must allocate one period daily for fitness and the Physical Trainers (PT Teachers) should be acknowledged for their role and contribution in training children.
  18. ‘Sundays On Cycle’ invites everyone to step-out, pedal and stay active.
  19. India has a tremendous talent pool and capability to win many more medals at the highest level and we have to fix the gaps and eliminate all the difficulties that an athlete faces.
  20. We can take Indian Sports to the next-level through collaboration and corporation and it is a collective responsibility of the government, private sector and citizens; and we must actively contribute in whatever way we can.

The Sports Ministry announced ‘Seven Days Activities’ program to make fitness fun and engaging.
