When U.S President Barack Obama accompanied by the first lady Michelle Obama visited the Mahatma Gandhi’s house ‘Mani Bhavan’ in 2010 he quoted “Gandhi is a hero not just to India, but to the entire world”. At very few places in the world you will find a forest which has survived urban development and continues to thrive in the middle of the city. Sanjay Gandhi National Park more often referred as ‘Borivali National Park’ is a blessing for a metropolis city of Mumbai which is clogged with humans, residential towers, vehicles, commercial establishments and more humans. A protected territory by state forest department of Maharashtra Government, Sanjay Gandhi National Park spreads over a huge area with plenty of places to visit inside for locals and tourists alike. #INTERNATIONAL MUSEUMS DAY 2019

Victoria and Albert Museum was commissioned in 1855 as a treasure house for decorative’s and industrial arts. The oldest museum of Mumbai located in Byculla was renamed as Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum in 1972 to honor Dr. Bhau Daji Lad (1824-74, an Indian physician and scholar).

18th April was declared by UNESCO as the ‘International Day for Monuments and Sites’ in 1983. Also know as the ‘World Heritage Day’, the aim of UNESCO is to create public awareness about the monuments and sites and the necessity to conserve, protect and restore them. It is not limited to the sites listed by UNESCO but concerns all cultural heritage monuments, places and landscapes of international, national and local significance.

The Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue is an Orthodox Jewish synagogue located in Forbes Street (renamed as V.B. Gandhi Marg) behind Kala Ghoda square in Fort, Mumbai. The Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue is the oldest sephardic synagogue in the city (Sephardi or Sephardic are Jewish ethnic group originally from Sepaharad, Spain.)

Marking the Tercentenary celebrations of ‘The Living Cathedral’, a month long exhibition digs into the archives of the cathedral and brings out the lesser know artefacts to the people. The island city of Mumbai (previously called as Bombay) has over hundred churches safeguarding the strong religious culture and history of our society. Some churches were raised during the Portuguese era between sixteenth and seventeenth century. And when the Britishers took over from the Portuguese in the later half of seventeenth century, a number of churches were commissioned during their rule. With an increasing english speaking population in the city, the need to have a place of worship was felt by the rulers. Camp Nou is the largest football stadium in Europe with a seating of 99,354. ‘Camp Nou’ used by the Catalan people means ‘New Field’ in English. The home stadium of FC Barcelona club was inaugurated in 1957. Originally the stadium was named ‘Estadi del FC Barcelona’ but later changed to ‘Camp Nou’ through a fan poll.
