India Book of Records 2024: Maximum bells installed on a bicycle.
The record for installing the maximum number of bells on a bicycle was set by Vijay Ramesh Malhotra (born on September 24, 1982) of Mumbai, Maharashtra. He installed 101 bicycle bells on the handlebar, front and rear pannier racks of a bicycle (model TREK FX 3) to promote road safety by catching the attention of motorists, as confirmed on May 21, 2024.
I live in Mumbai, ‘The city of dreams’ where I work to make a living, gain new experiences and ride a bicycle.
In 2024, I moved out of corporate life to focus on creating cycling and travel content. This blog ‘Pedal and Tring Tring’ was established in 2018 and has become an important ‘digital diary’ where I document my travel and cycling stories. Over the years, this platform has been publishing a variety of content from India and overseas. This is a self-funded, passion project to increase awareness and inspire everyone to make cycling a way of life.
In June 2023, I was awarded the United Nations World Bicycle Day Award ‘For Excellence in Promoting Cycling for All’ by Dr. Leszek Sibilski, the founder of 3rd June World Bicycle Day.
Since December 2025, I have been appointed as the ‘State Cycling Ambassador for Maharashtra’ by the Sports Ministry of India as part of the FIT INDIA MOVEMENT campaign started by the Honourable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi in 2019.
My journey has been featured by BBC, The Times of India, Hindustan Times, MidDay, Outlook Traveller, The Hindu and many more media publications.
