It’s been less than a year that India’s Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi launched the ‘FIT INDIA MOVEMENT’ on 29th August 2018 marking National Sports Day. FIT INDIA MOVEMENT encourages people to inculcate physical activity and sports in their everyday lives. Cycling is one of the best ways of remaining Fit and Healthy. Pro Cycle & Sports India Limited, the country’s premier lifestyle bicycling and outdoor company, that represents the iconic brands like the British Brand Brompton bicycle and B&W international, the leading outdoor and bike luggage brand in India and SAARC on Sunday 26th January 2020 launched the Mumbai Chapter of Brompton India Club. The increasingly large community of Brompton bikers ventured on a guided tour of Heritage Cycle ride in South Mumbai. The Brompton peloton draped in bright and visible neon jackets presented to them by Pro Cycle India stood out in the crack of dawn. The convoy pedalled along the coast covering historic structures like Gateway of India, The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, MCGM Headquarters, the UNESCO listed site CSMT building and soaked into the splendid views of the Marine Drive bay.
The esteemed cyclists were escorted inside the Sassoon Dock, one of the oldest docks in Mumbai harbor and established in 1875. The tour guide talked about the fishing port, the live market place, trade activities, boats and the fishing community.
The Brompton club ride culminated at the open air café at NCPA, ending the Republic Day celebrations with breakfast and fun games. Participants took on some rapid fire questions from the organizers and were awarded with goodies. The event host, Pro Cycle India also announced the winners of facebook photo contest.

Expressing gratitude on this announcement Murugan quoted “The day I purchased my Brompton never felt like coming of it. I had made a new year resolution in 2019 to cycle 50 kms a day. There is a saying ‘every drop in the ocean counts’, and I was able to accomplish my goal and concluded with 14,000 kms in a calendar year, which is a record. Today, am glad to receive this responsibility and look forward to inspire many more to join the Brommie tribe”.
