FROM CALICUT TO SOMNATH – MY SOLO CYCLING ODYSSEY
My target for the day was 50 miles. The previous night was terrific. A storm had passed, and the beach house where I had stayed was rattling for almost half an hour. I tried to sail through the darkness as mosquitoes took over my room. Water supply had ceased, and even a shower in the morning was impossible. With a fully drained power bank, a phone with less than 70% battery- life, no sleep and poor breakfast, I had to ride from Kunkeshwar to Ratnagiri. Pedal For The Planet turned out to be a process to accustom to the uncertainty of life!

TWO FRIENDS SET A RECORD IN TANDEM CYCLING TO UMLING LA
46-year-old Bangalore resident Meera Velankar, and 26-year-old Varanasi resident Utkarsh Verma have created a new record in tandem cycling. The Indian duo are the first in this mixed age category to summit Umling La on a tandem bicycle, which is the highest motorable pass in the world.

PARA-CYCLIST ‘TANYA DAGA’ RIDES 3800 KMS FROM KASHMIR TO KANYAKUMARI
Tanya Alok Daga, a para-cyclist from Biaora city, Madhya Pradesh successfully completed a charity cycle ride from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Riding with one leg, Tanya covered a distance of 3800 Kms in 43 days on a road bike.

‘The Limey Project’ is about an epic cycling adventure by two British men ‘Bone and Killer’ (fictitious names) from Dorset, England. In 2004, they took an ambitious journey spanning four months from Seattle to Miami, covering 5000 miles to raise money for cancer research.
