CAR FREE DAY: CYCLING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD

I had never imagined that I would be able to cycle in the middle of the road, thanks to Car Free Day organized by Mumbai Police. Car Free Day also called #SundayStreets, this campaign started with 6 streets going car free on the 1st Sunday and 9 streets on the 2nd Sunday from morning 6am to 10am. The number of locations will increase and more streets will be added, suggests the twitter handle of Mumbai Police.

On September 19th, 2021 more than 150 cities around the world including Istanbul, Paris, Vancouver, Berlin and London hosted the most vivid women created event for the 9th time in a row known as The Fancy Women Bike Ride (FWBR).

IN CONVERSATION WITH JOS SLUIJSMANS

#WORLD CAR FREE DAY

Jos Sluijsmans is the Director of International Cargo Bike Festival (ICBF), co-founder of Dutch Bicycle Center, and member of the Dutch Cycling Embassy and European Cycle Logistics Federation. After working as an interpreter and translator in Spanish for ten years and practicing law for eight years during the early stages of his career, Jos Sluijsmans ventured into cycling business and launched Fietsdiensten.nl in 2004. He started as a bike messenger and delivered organic and local food to restaurants by cargo bike. Jos also gave cycling lessons to people with physical and mental challenges.
